ACADEMIC CALENDAR 2019/2020

Schedule for the academic year 2019/2020
The academic year 2019/2020 starts on on 1 October 2019 and ends on on 30 September 2020
It consists of two semesters:
Winter semester: 1 October 2019 − 22 February 2020
Summer semester: 24 February 2020 − 30 September 2020
Lectures and classes will be held in the following periods:
  • 2 October 2019 − do 22 December 2019
  • 7 January 2020 − 28 January 2020
  • 24 February − 9 April 2020
  • 15 April 2020 − 14 June 2020

Note

On the recommendation of the Dean of a faculty and with the approval of the Student Government of  the Jagiellonian University the Rector may change the dates of the examination periods as long as all the demands of the curriculum are met. 

For a valid reason the Dean of a faculty may cancel some or all classes aside for those specified in this calendar. 
The Deans are responsible for ensuring that all the demands of the curriculum are duly met. To this end particular e-learning solutions may be used, which are regulated by separate rules and regulations. 
The period between 14 to 30 September is dedicated to administrative matters related to bringing the academic year 2019/20 to a close and to commencing the academic year 2020/21.
A detailed academic calendar for the Medical College is set by the Vice-Rector for Medical College.
A detailed academic calendar for particular part-time study programmes is decided by the Dean of a faculty on the basis of the curriculum.
