Every year the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology hosts a group of international students, who have come either to enter an Erasmus+ Study Programme or to do internship.

Erasmus+ Study Programme

The students wishing to visit Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology as the exchangees of the Erasmus+ Study Programme should first contact the Erasmus+ Coordinator at their mother institution to check whether they qualify for the programme and whether their mother institution signed an agreement of collaboration with the Jagiellonian University (JU).

The Erasmus+ Study Programme  application procedures are managed by the Jagiellonian University International Students Office. On the Office Webpage HERE you can find all relevant information related to the application procedures (deadlines, procedures and documents: Language Proficiency form and Learning Agreement) as well as Exchange Application Form which you need to fill out.

At some point in the application procedure the applicants need to contact the JU Faculty Erasmus+ Coordinator. Currently at  the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology the position is held by Professor Benedykt Władyka.

Depending on the country where the student’s mother institution is located he or she may spend one or two semesters at the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology as an Erasmus+ Study Programme participant (to check the calendar of the current academic year click HERE). Typically, the Erasmus+ students participate in a few selected courses run in English and in a small research project at one of the seventeen Departments/Laboratories of the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology.

Student Internships

Although the participation in a student internship at the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology does not require as much paperwork as in the Erasmus+ Study Programme, it still requires the official consent of the FBBB.

As the internship is mostly done in laboratories you should first learn the nature and extent of research carried out in the 21 Departments/Laboratories of the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology (see HERE) and to be as specific about your interests and expectations as possible.
